A Consultation with you in your garden...

This is an opportunity to talk about your garden with a professional designer, and can be used in several different ways, for example:-

• How to make your garden easier to maintain.
• Advice on incorporating a new feature into your garden.
• Advice on ways to improve your gardenís looks, if you intend to sell your property.
• Troubleshooting that problem area.
• Advice on planting to create more colour, or seasonal interest throughout the year.
• A new design for your garden. Talk with us about how you want to use your garden, your own ideas, and we will put forward some ideas of our own. We will also show you a portfolio of designs to give you a clear idea of what we can produce for you and talk you through the processes involved.

A Consultation usually takes up to one and a half hours for the average sized garden. Consultation charge: £45.00 for Edinburgh and Lothians, small additional travel charge elsewhere.

• Before we come, talk to everyone in the household and make up a wish list for the garden. It is very important for us to gain a full picture of what you want your garden to be and exactly how you want to use it.
• Think carefully about how much time realistically, you have to maintain the garden on a weekly basis.
• If you come across any magazine pictures that you like or dislike - lay them aside to discuss.
• Troubleshooting that problem area.
• Give some thought to the budget you have available to spend.
• A new design for your garden. Talk with us about how you want to use your garden, your own ideas, and we will put forward some ideas of our own. We will also show you a portfolio of designs to give you a clear idea of what we can produce for you and talk you through the processes involved.

• Upon acceptance by you of our fee charge, we will come and survey the site,including levels, soil samples, site inventory and analyses.
• We will start work on the drawings for your garden. These will be drawn to scale, and show in detail terraces, pathways, arches, planting beds, ponds etc
• Materials will be specified and construction drawings, sketches, and elevation details will be included as required to assist your understanding of the design.
• We will contact you to arrange to meet, talk through and discuss the design with you. You will receive one colour copy and one black and white copy of the design. Further copies are available for a small charge.
• Minor changes to the design are not charged, but a fundamental change of mind or change of circumstances which effects the design will be charged at an hourly rate, discussed with you in advance.

We can advise you on reliable, quality contractors, that we work with regularly to undertake the work in your garden. We can visit the site at regular intervals to monitor construction.

• We can organise and monitor the project from start to finish for you.
• If required we can submit drawings for planning permission, (the fees would be payable by you).
• We can prepare product information and tender documentation.
• We can assist you in the appointment of contractors, and monitor construction and soft landscaping.

We can source and supply good quality plants, which can be planted by us, the contractor or yourself.

• Fees are payable upon receipt of drawings. Occasionally, it may be necessary to engage the services of structural engineers, architects or surveyors and these services would be charged at cost plus 10%.
• We have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
