The final phase of landscaping is the installation of a paved circle for a sitting area, lawn and plant bed preparation.  Soil preparation is the key to good strong plant growth.  The plant bed area is cleared of unwanted vegetation and bricks, concrete, stones etc and rotovated and organic matter and compost added to the soil.  As it was a wet spring the heavy soil was left and rotovated again shortly before planting. The boundary fence was given a fresh coat of paint.  Finally the garden appears…

This was a joint project, the design undertaken by Polley Garden Design and the planting design and plants supplied by Foliage Planting Design (www.AlisonMacDonald.co.uk) We are looking forward to working on the next phase of the garden together.
